FAQs for Enterprises Interested in Becoming a SesameSpot
What is my R.O.I.?
Typically a single user per SesameSpot per month is the break even point.
Where will all the equipment be located?
System components are usually hidden from view in a cabinet or above the
ceiling.
What new equipment will the SesameSpot
Host need?
A SesameSpot requires at least one Sesame Access Manager and at least
one Wi-Fi Access Point. You may need to purchase an Internet router if
you do not already have one.
Can I use my current router and network
equipment?
Most mainstream routers are supported. Please contact us for details.
How long does it take to install?
The typically setup time for a basic configuration is two to three hours.
Large installations will take longer.
Can the mobile professional access my
corporate LAN by default ?
No. Wi-Fi access is only provided to the Internet. Specific services
like printing are also provided through browser based functionality so
your corporate LAN is never accessed.
Can I gain access from a SesameSpot to
my own corporate LAN?
Yes, provided you have VPN access set up.

services can be made available to your mobile allied professionals.
How do you handle system abuse?
Activity patterns are tracked and can be matched to cell phone numbers.
Can a SesameSpot work in conjunction
with my firewall?
Yes, the Sesame Access Manager can be placed behind the firewall.
Your firewall will need to have a few ports forwarded to allow guest authentication,
Internet traffic and firmware upgrades as part of our service management.
It is perfectly acceptable to install the SAM be installed outside the
firewall for simplicity and security reasons. The SAM is a firewall in
its own right.
Can I limit the amount of bandwidth
for my Wi-FI connection?
Yes, you can limit the overall bandwidth of the Wi-Fi connetion
and the bandwidth allocated to each mobile user.
What type of Internet service do I need
to host a SesameSpot?
Sesame’s solution will not work with Dial up connections.
We also do not recommend using ISDN as the connection speed is too slow.
The SesameSpot is ideal for Cable, DSL, T1, T3 or higher bandwidth connections.
What is the benefit of using a SesameSpot
rather than an open wireless connection?
Providing open access to a wireless connection means that anybody
can engage in illicit Internet behavior using your connection. This would
be detrimental to the corporate brand. By using a SesameSpot you are
providing free Internet access to your allied professionals (customers,
consultants, out-of-town employees, etc) while knowing that they are
traceable and you are safe.
Are there other added benefits?
Yes. The login in page is branded with your enterprises corporate
logo, to reaffirm your brand to your customers. Once logged in, the user
is immediately redirected to a webpage that is chosen by you. Some of
our customers have used this webpage to sell ad space, redirect to a survey,
or have a small presentation about the company or new product. Also the
SesameSpot offers valuable usage reporting tools about your wireless users.
