Management Team
Sesame Networks has assembled a world class team. The executive management
team has broad and extensive experience in telecommunications, finance,
start-up businesses, marketing, technology operations and channel management.
Executives hail from industry leaders including Bell Canada, Nortel Networks,
Stentor, SaskTel, Wholesale Telecom, Bayline Communications, eCharge,
Fonorola, Teleglobe, Bell Nexxia, and NORDX/CDT.

Tom Hope (Founder)
President and CEO.
Tom has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry
including executive management positions at Bell Canada, Canada's
largest communications provider of wired and wireless telephone
services, Internet access, high-speed data services and directories,
and Stentor Canadian Network Management which manages and monitors
the inter-provincial networks and North American interconnection
facilities of the Stentor companies.
Prior to founding Sesame Networks in February 2003, Tom served
as Chief Technology Officer at Bell Canada where he spearheaded
the company’s aggressive high speed DSL Internet roll-out.
In addition, he has successfully led and delivered major telecom
expansion projects at Bell Nexxia, SaskTel, and Leicester Cable
in the UK
Tom has a B.Sc. Eng (Hons) from King’s College, London, a
Diploma in Management Studies from Portsmouth University. He is
a Member of the Ontario Association of Professional Engineers and
IEEE. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Canadian Communication
Research Centre.

Clifford Grossner
Ph.D.
Vice President, Product Marketing.
At Sesame, Cliff is responsible for product vision, go-to-market
strategy and product positioning for the company’s products,
media and analyst relations
Cliff has over 10 years of experience in bringing new products
to market in information and communications technology industries.
Most recently, he was the Vice President, of Product Line Management
for NewStep Networks, a successful telecom start-up. Cliff has also
served in a variety of senior positions at both March Networks and
Nortel.
Previous to Nortel, Cliff worked as a Research Scientist and Faculty
Lecturer in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Computing,
and Computer Architecture.
Cliff has a Ph.D. from McGill University and M.Sc. Computer Science
from Concordia University, Montreal.

Warren F. Porter
Vice President, Sales.
At Sesame Networks Warren is responsible for all revenue generating
activities including direct and channel sales. He is also responsible
for implementing all sales systems and processes.
Warren brings extensive sales and channel management experience
in telecommunications to Sesame’s management team. During
his 15 years within the industry, he has defined and executed successful
sales strategies resulting in strong revenue growth.
Prior to Sesame, he was Director of Business Development for a
major customer service measurement company and prior to that was
Vice President of Carrier Services at Contour Telecom, a division
of AT&T Canada, now Allstream. While at Contour Warren negotiated
Contour’s carrier agreements resulting in direct saving of
over $1Million per year.
Previous to Contour, Warren was President of Wholesale Telecom
Inc. which successfully represented International telecommunication
carriers to Canadian companies. He also consulted to companies including
Navaho Networks and eCharge Corporation. While at eCharge he successfully
negotiated a major agreement with Korea Telecom leading to the implementation
of eCharge’s eCommerce service in Korea.
Warren began his career in telecommunications with Fonorola, where
he ultimately assumed responsibility for wholesale services in Western
Canada. While in this position he increased Fonorola’s wholesale
revenue base tenfold from $2.2M to over $20M within a single year.
Warren has completed business management courses at the University
of Toronto.

Bill Daicos
CFO and Vice President Administration.
Bill joined the Sesame team in April of 2004. In his role as CFO
& Vice President of Administration, he is responsible for finance,
legal, IT, human resources and facilities.
Prior to joining Sesame, Bill was a partner at Toll Cross Investments
and worked for 10 years in the telecommunications industry in a
variety of back office operations and finance roles.
Most recently, he was Executive Director of Finance & Customer
Service at Teleglobe. Prior to Teleglobe, he served as the Director
of Finance at Bell Nexxia, and Director of Network Cost Control
at fonorola.
Bill has a joint honours degree (BA) in economics and history from
McGill University.

Philippe Labrosse
Vice President of Technology.
Philippe joined Sesame in January of 2004 with over 15 years of
experience in research, development and project management in the
telecommunications industry. As Vice President of Technology, he
is responsible for the company's long-term technology strategy.
Prior to joining Sesame, Philippe was Project Director for the
DataValet Business Unit at NORDX/CDT, a worldwide leader in cabling
infrastructure. Philippe was responsible for driving the Wi-Fi service
management vision at DataValet. . Philippe’s background also
includes stints at Mux Lab, a maker of networking appliances and
as Vice President of Research and Development of NHC Communications.
He holds an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal
and an MBA from Hautes Études Commerciales also in Montreal. |
